CLIENT

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Beaumont District

LOCATION:

Beaumont, Texas

BACKGROUND

The project, commissioned by TxDOT, involves the construction of an overpass bridge over the existing Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR), the removal of the at-grade crossing, and the addition of a U-turn.

PROJECT FEATURE

infraTECH served as the H&H Lead and PS&E drainage EOR for this project. The drainage system for the proposed construction was designed to ensure efficient stormwater drainage from the project area without negatively impacting the railroad. Additionally, stormwater from the proposed overpass bridge was planned to be diverted away from the UPRR right-of-way (ROW). The project included identifying outfalls for the proposed system, conducting a hydrologic analysis based on NOAA Atlas 14 to compute design flow, and designing the storm sewers using OpenRoads software. A 3D model for the proposed drainage system, along with plan and profile sheets, and a cost estimate for bid-ready construction, were prepared.

RELEVANT SERVICES

As the H&H lead for the project, infraTECH was responsible for H&H analysis, drainage design, ORD 3D model of proposed storm sewer system, plan, specifications, and cost estimates.
