BACKGROUND

As part of the Local Drainage Program (LDP) projects contracts overseen by the Houston Public Works (HPW) of the City of Houston (COH), infraTECH has completed several Work Authorizations (Was) and has been providing design services for additional WAs under two separate contracts concurrently. The overall objective of these projects is to improve the drainage system and reduce flooding across the jurisdiction of the COH.

PROJECT FEATURE

While the extent and complexity of various LDP projects vary quite widely, the design incorporates many of the following features:

  •    Inlet design

  •    Storm sewer design

  •    Ditch/swale design

  •    Culvert design (including driveway culvert, cross culvert)

  •    Regarding open ditches

  •    H&H modeling for flow and conveyance computation

  •    Surface water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP)

  •    Traffic control plan (TCP) for drainage design

  •    Utility coordination.

RELEVANT SERVICES

As the prime, infraTECH’s responsibilities include filed investigation, hydrologic calculations, hydraulic analysis and design, preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E), and support during construction.
