Smith and Van Zandt Counties, Texas

BACKGROUND

The Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP), directed by Texas’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP), works to achieve the main objective of significantly reducing traffic fatalities and serious injuries on all public roads by using a data-driven approach. TxDOT uses both targeted and systemic approaches to select projects. The latter involves widely implementing improvements based on high-risk roadway features correlated with specific severe crash types.

PROJECT FEATURE

Under two (2) work authorizations (WA) and multiple CSJs, infraTECH designed LED Chevron for seven (7) curves in Van Zandt County, Roadside Flashing Beacon Replacements for three (3) intersections, and Intersection Illumination for five (5) intersections.

RELEVANT SERVICES

infraTECH served as the prime for this project and was responsible for project management, design, coordination with TxDOT, preparation of plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E).
