Every year Harris County spends millions of dollars to rehabilitate existing pavements to improve rideability. These county roads include local roads in residential areas, minor collectors, and multi-lane arterials- both asphalt and concrete pavements. Rehabilitation options for asphalt pavements include mill and overlay, base repair, replace existing pavement, and replace existing asphalt pavement with concrete pavements. For existing concrete pavements, rehabilitation options include panel replacement and reconstruction.
PROJECT FEATURE
The Aldine West and Northeast pavement rehabilitation project consists of a total of 48 streets in the Aldine area. The total length of project sections is approximately 13.0 miles that includes local roads in residential areas, minor collectors, and multi-lane arterials predominantly asphalt pavements. Out of 48 streets assessed, 27 streets were proposed to undergo full-depth repairs, 18 streets to undergo mill and overlay treatments, and 3 streets to remain unchanged due to their good conditions.
