BACKGROUND
Vaccaro Manor Estates, located in the City of Stafford, experienced flooding due to repetitive flooding events. The City undertook the drainage improvement project to alleviate flooding problems along several streets within the subdivision.
PROJECT FEATURE
The design for Vaccaro Manor included addition of storm sewers, inlets and regrading of ditches within existing ROW for these open ditch streets. To provide adequate ditch grade and inlets/pipes cover, multiple drainage systems were designed. Proposed drainage improvements were designed minimizing impact to existing water, sanitary lines and dry utilities. A conflict MH was proposed in one location to avoid costly relocation of gravity sanitary line.
The design also included relocation of existing sanitary and water lines. The team coordinated extensively with existing utility companies.
