BACKGROUND

This project included providing a hike and bike trail in the Pine Brook Basin under Phase 1. Once Phase 2 is complete, these two (2) phases will provide over 2-mile-long trail for the residents of Reserve at Clearlake Community and Northfork Community subdivisions.

PROJECT FEATURE

Phase 1 of the project, completed in February 2024, included construction of a 4,800-ft long concrete trail. The trail is almost entirely located within the Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) Detention Basin. The project area is bound by an existing pipeline right-of-way (ROW) to the north, Clear Lake City Blvd to the south, commercial businesses to the east, and Almond Creek Dr to the west.

The project included a study and a design phase. The study phases included environmental studies comprised of Wetland Delineation, Threatened and Endangered Species Assessment, and Cultural Resources Desktop Review. The design phase included development of PS&E documents following HCFCD and Harris County standards and specifications. To avoid the construction of the trail inside the corner clip, metes and bounds were prepared.

RELEVANT SERVICES

As the prime provider for the project, infraTECH was responsible for project management, detailed engineering analysis and design, preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E), and support during construction for this project.
