BACKGROUND

The City of Houston was having safety and maintenance issues with the trench drains located in the center of the METRO bus curb lanes in downtown Houston. The purpose of the project scope was to improve drainage, safety and maintenance issues along Smith Street from Dallas Street to Preston Road.

PROJECT FEATURE

Based on hydraulic analysis, the project primarily involved replacing existing grate inlets with curb inlets to improve drainage operation along Metro Bus Lane. The project also involved pavement and curb replacement, Metro bus pad and paver replacement, pavement marking, signing and SW3P within the project limit.

RELEVANT SERVICES

As the prime provider, infraTECH’s responsibilities included filed investigation, surveying, hydraulic analysis and design, utility conflict analysis, coordination with different agencies, preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E), and support during construction.
